ARTS AND ECONOMIC PROSPERITY 5 STUDY, 2016
"Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 is Americans for the Arts’ fifth study of the nonprofit arts and culture industry's impact on the economy. It documents the economic contributions of the arts in 341 diverse communities and regions across the country, representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Nationally, the nonprofit arts and culture industry generated $166.3 billion of economic activity during 2015—$63.8 billion in spending by arts and cultural organizations and an additional $102.5 billion in event-related expenditures by their audiences. This activity supported 4.6 million jobs and generated $27.5 billion in revenue to local, state, and federal governments (a yield well beyond their collective $5 billion in arts allocations)."

ART DEPOT PROJECT MANAGER, 2015 - 2016
The Art Depot collected visual art supplies and cash donations from individuals, groups and organizations. Monetary donations are used to purchase specifically requested art supplies. Local art educators are granted supplies, FREE of charge to help facilitate specific art projects for area students. Creatively utilizing city resources, the Art Depot processes and stores the art supply inventory at the historic Ocala Union Station. In the 2014-15 school year, the Art Depot distributed $3,500 in visual arts supplies, and to Marion County classrooms. In the 2015-16 school year, donations surpassed $4,000 in visual art supplies.
ART IN THE PARK 2015 & 2016
Every year West Port High School hosts a sidwalk chalk art competition in Tuscawilla Park as part of the City of Ocala's Earth Day at Arborfest event. This competition provides a fun way for student artists to get engaged in our local parks and with the community. For two years I organized the jurors and the judging process on the event day, and assisted in calculating scores to determine the winners and present awards.
PUBLIC MURAL IMPLEMENTATION
In 2016 the City of Ocala commissioned three new murals in and around downtown. Our Cultural Arts team coordinated with local arts organizations, local and international artists to bring these three murals to fruition. These murals are my favorite project that we worked on during my time working for the City of Ocala. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with some truly amazing artists who have shared their gifts with our city.
HENSE MURAL - DECEMBER 2016
Artist: Alex Brewer
Thanks to a partnership with the Appleton Museum and various community partners, this mural commissioned by the City of Ocala was done by internationally renowned artist Alex Brewer, also known as HENSE. This mural is part of the new Art Park addition to Tuscawilla Park, just north of Downtown Ocala. The project required the City's partnership with multiple organizations and businesses in order to meet the artist's $20,000 fee. As a part of the team that coordinated this project I participated in planning meetings and priming the wall, secured sponsorships from local restaurants to feed Alex while he was in town, and assisted in preparing/hosting an artist talk at Ocala Union Station.
WATER TANK MURAL - JUNE 2016
Artist: Eduardo Mendieta
The City of Ocala commissioned Florida artist Eduardo Mendieta to design and paint a mural on a large water tank that is located in Downtown Ocala. The goal of the Water Tank Mural Project is to enhance the SE Watula Avenue gateway into the New Markets District with a theme that supports sustainable farming complements the nearby Ocala Downtown Market and future Downtown Market Park. The mural wraps the tank 360 degrees. As a part of the team that coordinated this project, I participated in a concept design meeting, and provided administrative assistance to the project manager.
S-CURVE MURAL - APRIL 2016
Artist: Mel Fiorentino
This mural serves as a "welcome" to visitors of Downtown Ocala, located just off of one of the main streets that leads into downtown, its theme expresses all that Historic Downtown Ocala has to offer. The mural was commissioned by the City of Ocala, with a call to artists and request for proposals issued in 2016, and jury panel of local community members selected the winning design. As a part of the team that coordinated this project I processed and compiled entries into a PDF & PowerPoint presentation, measured the building and provided images for Call to Artists document, and assisted in social media marketing campaign.
